      Bequests for Wills or Trusts

See further down for recommended language for bequests and other gifts.

Don and Mary have been faithful supporters of The Salvation Army. They want to stand behind The Salvation Army as it continues to provide help and hope for many people.

Don: I know through past experiences about the importance of helping others and providing a listening ear, which The Salvation Army does so well. We think that it is important to partner with them to make a difference. For that reason, Mary and I have made gifts over the years to help so that others can be helped.

Mary: We want to do more than to just make gifts. Don and I have accumulated some resources over the years so we sat down and planned where our hard-earned money would eventually go. We plan to be generous with family in our estate planning, but we also have planned our generosity with a final gift to The Salvation Army.

After talking it over, Don and Mary decided to leave a bequest in their will. Their attorney took the language below and included a nice bequest. They are delighted to be helping others through The Salvation Army in the future.

You also may want to make it easy and convenient to have a bequest included in your will. If you do name us to receive an estate gift, we appreciate knowing to confidentially say thank you for your future planned generosity.

The language below will be helpful to your attorney. If you have a special purpose or project in mind, it's best to contact us before you make or revise your plans to be certain that your intent can be carried out. If there are questions, contact Ed Roberts at 800-336-4547 x 363, or giftplanmokan@usc.salvationarmy.org.
